A2A, multiservice Italian company operating in the environment and energy sectors, involved the Design Department in studying and envisioning the installation of a new wind power plant in Basilicata region.

The research aimed at propose both immediately feasable and disruptive projects having not only an economic-functional value but also a perceptual and service value to inhabitants and tourists. The concepts proposed had to overcome barriers regarding the lack of trust that inhabitants, in particular, might have toward wind turbines.
The activities included three phases:
• A research phase focused on the context and the management of inclusive processes for sustainable transition;
• An ideation phase, developed in collaboration with the students of the School of Design (Product Service System Design; Design Engineering; Integrated Product Design; Communication Design);
• A dissemination phase.
