The EKIP project addresses the complexity of innovation processes in CCIs by fostering ecosystems of large and small companies, institutions, researchers, and citizens. With an Open Innovation approach, it provides evidence-based policy recommendations while engaging cross-sectoral stakeholders. The project enhances co-creation and supports policy-making for positive societal change.

EKIP aims to create a sustainable and supportive ecosystem for CCIs by developing co-creation strategies that enhance engagement, education, and policymaking. The project seeks to raise awareness, formulate policy recommendations, and empower stakeholders through inclusive and interdisciplinary processes. It facilitates innovation by integrating diverse actors in a shared policy platform.
The EKIP project is structured into three phases: (i) Identification of intervention areas through data collection and policy corners, (ii) Policy formulation via interdisciplinary policy labs and real-world demonstrations in urban ecosystems, and (iii) Outreach through the EKIP Observatory, Knowledge Bank, and participation in European events to share recommendations.
